MUSIC
Music is such an important part of a child's life. It is also a beautiful form of prayer! Our choir is a big part of our special liturgies at church. From grades 4 through 8, our students enhance our school with beautiful Gospel music and share their talents with nearby nursing home residents.

As part of a partnership with Oak Park River Forest students volunteer at St. Catherine's which enhances our curriculum and after-school enrichment. Students interested in a more focused art class can take advantage of our after-school art club.

STOCK MARKET PROGRAM

As part of our partnership with Big Shoulders Fund, the Stock Market Program brings business professionals into our eighth-grade classroom to teach students about the stock market, investing, personal savings, and careers in the financial industry. Students in the program build a virtual portfolio tied to actual financial incentives for the school.
NATIONAL JUNIOR HONORS SOCIETY
SCSL is a recognized member of the National Junior Honor Society. Students may apply in their 7th and/or 8th grade. Admittance is based on the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service. A ceremony is held in the spring to honor those young adults who have been selected; they are expected to hold true to these standards throughout the rest of their student careers.
COMMUNITY GARDENING PROJECT
The community gardening project led by the Collaboration for Early Childhood aims to provide children with hands-on learning experiences through gardening. Click here to learn more.
